Music playschool’s policies
Music, play and interaction, auditory learning and self-expression form the basis of a music playschool. Music playschool lessons include singing, chatting, listening to music, playing instruments, musical movement and combining music with other creative expression. What is important is the personal experience of music.
Instruments in music playschool include rhythm instruments such as cones, maracas, triangles, gongs and quiros, melody instruments such as xylophones and other tile instruments, percussion instruments such as djembes, bongos, and ring drums. Other instruments include kanteles, recorders, ukuleles, acoustic guitars and band instruments such as small electric guitars and basses, class drums, drum kits, electric pianos and vocal microphones.
The school term ends with the music playschool’s Christmas and spring concerts, where the students have the opportunity to perform. Through performing, the students gain experience in performing situations and guidance in performing behaviour.
