Basic education in music creates good conditions for developing musical competence
Studying Pop & Jazz Conservatory’s in basic art education is part of a broader curriculum. This means that each student’s studies include learning their own instrument, music appreciation skills, i.e. music theory, the history of Western popular music and playing together. In addition to their main instrument, students can apply for a second instrument course.

Preparatory instrument training introduces you to instruments
At the Pop & Jazz Conservatory, children in grades 1-3 are included in the preparatory instrument training programme.
During the preparatory instrument training, the student’s instrument changes every semester, giving them time to try out two instruments during the academic year. The aim is to find the most suitable instrument for each student to continue learning to play after the instrumental training.
Band workshops to make music together
Band workshops are for children aged 7-12 who are interested in playing together. The band workshops are relaxed and fun, and you can join in by signing up.
The basics of ensemble playing are taught in groups of 5-8 students. Body rhythms, singing and playing are included in every lesson. In the band workshop you can try out electric bass, guitar, drum kit, keyboards and singing.
There is also a band workshop for adults.
Choirs develop children’s singing skills
Join the choir! The Pop & Jazz Conservatory has three choirs, Minimals for 5-6 year olds, choir for 7-10 year olds and choir for 11 year olds and above.
