At the Pop & Jazz Conservatory, we want to emphasise that you can learn at any age. Our music lessons are for all ages, from babies to grandchildren.
Every year, we guide hundreds of children and adults into life-enriching musical activities and train high-quality music and music production professionals.
The importance of music is incredible: it activates the brain, especially in childhood, but music has positive effects on well-being throughout your life. Research shows that children who listen to music are more attentive than others. In adulthood, music improves memory and reduces the risk of dementia in the elderly.
The Pop & Jazz Conservatoire’s music teaching is student-centred and expert. Join us for an inspiring hobby or study music as a profession!
Music education from infant to grandchild
We offer music lessons for all music lovers: children, teenagers, adults and seniors. The study path at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory can start as a baby in a family group of musicians. For slightly older children under school age, there is a choice of rhythm or instrumental musicians.
Musicians are also available for adults and seniors who are interested in relaxed group music-making.
School-age children can choose, for example, a band workshop or a choir. More ambitious school-age music lovers can apply for instrumental coaching or basic music education.
The Pop & Jazz Conservatory offers the leading professional education in the field in Finland. If you are interested in music as a profession, you can study a Bachelor’s degree in music at the Pop & Jazz Conservatory, where you can choose between the music specialisation or the music technology specialisation.
The Professional Diploma in Music Production is for people already working in the industry or for graduates with an undergraduate degree in music.
How to apply to study

The Muskars offer music lessons at the conservatory. Anyone can join, with no entrance exams or aptitude tests.
Places in the Muskar, band workshop and choir are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Primary education
Applications for instrumental coaching and basic music studies in instrumental and vocal studies are made through student selection. New pupils are admitted to fill any vacancies.
Vocational education and training
Applications for vocational education and training are made during the joint selection procedure.
The application is a two-stage process, with students selected on the basis of admission and aptitude tests.

Pop & Jazz Open on kaikille avointa musiikkiopetusta – lähtötasosta tai asuinpaikasta riippumatta. Pop & Jazz Open tarjoaa Suomen parasta rytmimusiikin verkko- ja lähiopetusta lähes 50 vuoden ammattitaidolla.
